Why Calso
The cafes, restaurants and bakeries I know run on ten open tabs, a phone that won't stop ringing during service, and an owner who does the supplier calls, the ordering, the reviews and the admin at 11pm after close. The “AI” most of them see pitched is a US SaaS tool with eight tiers, dashboards nobody opens, and a New York accent on the phone.
Calso is the opposite. One line, Australian voice, speaks like a local. It picks up the phone, takes the booking, rings the supplier, sends the recap, chases the review. No seats, no tiers, no per-minute charges. Built for venues, not for enterprise procurement.
I ship Calso end-to-end myself — product, architecture, code, copy, ops. Modern solo-founder toolkit, AI pair-programming included. But the decisions, the direction and the accountability are mine. If a venue needs Calso to behave differently or something breaks at 10pm, you're not logging a ticket with a helpdesk in another timezone — you're talking to the person who built the thing.
